Palm Grill Restaurant - Baja California
Capped with a large, steeply pitched palm roof, “The Palm Grill" in Cantamar is a landmark Baja restaurant, well loved by locals and tourists
alike. You’ll easily find this perennial favorite at K53 exit off the toll road. The Palm Grill is close to Pemex on the west side of the
free road. It’s about 15- 20 minutes south of central Rosarito on the Baja California coastline.
There are three main seating areas: the bar, the main dining area and the outdoor patio, situated among a heavy planting of
palm trees. The full bar features a particularly good selection of tequilas and the margaritas are delicious and not skimpy on tequila. The
bar is a popular spot in Baja to view sports and has a number of well situated TVs. The main dining room is set on a red concrete floor and
there is a good selection of draped tables for large or small groups. The outdoor patio has an “in a garden” feel to it and is a fun place
on a Sunday afternoon in the summer season to watch a performance by Wandana, a popular, local band.
Food Recommendations: The diverse menu has a good selection of seafood, steaks, ribs, chicken and Mexican dishes. We
especially like the steamed clams, table-side prepared Caesar salad, tortilla soup, hamburgers, ribs and steaks. Many people swear by the lobster
bisque, but it’s a bit salty for my palate. The waiters have worked there for many years and can assist you with suggestions also.
Entertainment and Specials During the summer season there are concerts “under the Palms” every Sunday from 2-6PM featuring
Wandana.

Wandana is a very entertaining group to listen or dance to. Over the years Wandana has gained a loyal group of fans from Baja and farther afield,
who come out to listen and dance on the patio. The band plays a wide selection of music: Latin, rock, jazz and reggae, for which they don Rasta
style, dred lock wigs. Summer is especially pleasant for the afternoon concerts when the off shore breezes waft up from the nearby beach. The
setting under the multitude of palms is both relaxing and scenic. Live music is also featured on Friday and Saturday nights at the bar from
7-11PM.
Every day at "The Palm Grill Restaurant" features a “happy hour” from 2-6PM. Thursday is ladies night and popular with the local Baja
gringas.
